Resumes - The ticket to interview
Getting the resume right is crucial to your chances of going further in the recruitment process. Employers may be inundated with hundreds of resumes for roles and will look to quickly eliminate those that don’t match the role requirements.
Your resume should be a fluid document that can be tailored to specifically address the needs of the role you are applying for. Some handy tips are;
- Use information, in particular headings that match the role you applying for
- Use a design that is catchy but also ensure it is constant (no signs of cut & paste)
- Use information that sells and figures (Factual) are a strong weapon
- Do your research and use language that the employer uses in their promotional information (Website)
- Identify and address the needs as expressed by the employer
- Prioritize the content, most important/recent first and scaling backwards
The Interview - Your time to Shine
The key to a successful interview is thorough preparation. Finding out as much as you can about the position, the company and the industry will place you in a strong position and give you the confidence to handle any difficult situations that may arise.

If you take the time to prepare answers to some of the above questions, as some may not be applicable, you will be better prepared for your interview and will stand a better chance of securing the role.
